The process to obtain brass is similiar to that used for Silver. The 3d digital model is printed in wax using an high resolution printer. Then the wax model is submerged in liquid plaster which will become solid. The wax model is melted out in a furnace and so will remain the mould for brass. Melted brass is put in the mould and when solidified, the plaster is broken away.
Following there is an electrolytic process to add Nikel and finally a thin layer of 24K Gold plating.
This 3d material in perfect for shining and detailed 3d printed jewelry, which appear like solid gold.
We have used Gold plated Brass to create our jewel “femme”, and it has come out fantastic. Take a look at photos.
